Sarah Vaughan
Original acrylic painting by Keith Hemsley
About the painting
This is a beautiful acrylic portrait depicting Sarah Vaughan (1924-1990), one of the greatest jazz vocalists of the 20th century. The painting captures her expressive singing style, with her head tilted back beside a vintage golden microphone.
The dramatic lighting, warm skin tones, deep black background, and touches of gold give the portrait a wonderful sense of elegance and emotion.
