Sonia
Original acrylic painting by Keith Hemsley
About the painting
Sonia is an elegant, luminous contemporary portrait that combines classical portraiture with the bold brushwork and simplified forms of modern figurative painting. She is depicted in a graceful three-quarter profile, turning her head towards the viewer. Her beautifully arranged golden-blonde hair, striking green eyes, and softly coloured lips create an impression of refinement and understated glamour.
The painting's defining characteristic is its dramatic contrast between the illuminated figure and the deep, almost black background.
