June
Original acrylic painting by Keith Hemsley
About the painting
June is a dramatic and atmospheric contemporary portrait, distinguished by its powerful use of light, shadow, and warm colour. The subject is shown in profile, her face gently raised and her eyes closed, creating an impression of serenity, confidence, and quiet introspection.
The painting's most striking feature is its intense golden-orange illumination, which brings the face, neck, and shoulder forward against an almost entirely black background.
