Gustav
Original acrylic painting by Keith Hemsley
About the painting
Gustav is a compelling contemporary portrait that combines expressive figurative painting with strong graphic contrasts, confident brushwork, and a distinctly romantic atmosphere.
The subject is depicted in a three-quarter pose, turning towards the viewer. His abundant dark curly hair, pale blue eyes, and finely modelled facial features create an arresting image.
